秋になると、散歩道から物音が聞こえてくる。カチッとかポトッとか。ドングリが木から落ちる音だ。早い時期から落ちてくるドングリは、ゾウムシの仕業だ。ドングリに卵を産み付けて、育った子たちがすぐに地面に潜ってさなぎになれるように、木から切り落とすのだ。落ちたところが土ならいいのだが、アスファルトならどうなってしまうのだろうか。
The waxing moon rises at twilight. When the cherry blossoms are still visible, it is possible to capture them together in an image. This best timing, which is also related to the weather, is not easy to find. I guess I have to rely a bit on Photoshop in the end.
適性で撮った写真にPhotoshopで色調整をした。よく観光地の画像で、テレビ局があり得ない色で、紅葉に色をつけてオンエアしているのを散見するが、それほどではないにしても、これぐらい騙すのもちょっと憚られる。自然界は、そんなに派手じゃない色で構成されている。
I made some color adjustments in Photoshop to some photos I took with aptitude. I often see TV stations showing on-air images of tourist attractions with colors of autumn leaves in impossible colors, but I am not afraid to cheat this much, if not that much. The natural world is composed of colors that are not so flashy.
このぐらいに積もった枯葉は、ゆっくり踏みつけると、何かが折れるようなパキパキという音がする。それが、早く踏みつけて歩くようにすると、カサッカサッという音がする。いずれにしても、役目を終えた葉っぱたちの最後の叫びのようにも聞こえてしまう。さまざまな葉っぱたちが、これからの沙汰を待つように、肩を寄せ合い、じっとしている様は、ちょっと哀しくもある。
Dead leaves piled up this high make a cracking sound as if something is breaking when you step on them slowly. But if you stomp on them quickly and walk on them, you will hear a cracking sound. The scenery near Takanodai Station on the Seibu Kokubunji Line. Many trees are losing their colors as they move toward winter. Gently and quietly. It is like an image of human being getting old and decaying. It is similar to the work of human beings who are quietly and silently walking toward the devil's gate.
柿は、高すぎる場所にあると取るに取れない。このまま冬を迎え、やがては、それを採ることができる鳥たちの糧になっていく。その横を、これ見よがしに軍用機が通り過ぎる。あれこそは、尺度にならないほど高すぎる買い物なのだが、取るに取れない。

ちょっと実験的に富士の画像を作ってみた。これらはすべて、多摩湖からの景色を加工したものだが、やはり富士山はいい。どんなに加工しても、富士山は富士山なのだ。最後は額縁的な画になってしまうのだが、主体はあくまでも紅葉になっている。

真っ赤に染まったイロハモミジが、上から大量に覆い被さってくると、少し恐ろしさすら感じる。赤い色の持つ、恐怖感なのだろうか。しかし、そこにほんの少し、色づく前に緑の葉が入ることによって、恐怖感が和らぐ。それは緑色の持つやさしさの為せる技なのか。

黄色く染まったヤマイモの蔓に、ムカゴが残されていた。本来は、地に落ちて新しい個体として生活が始まるのだったのだろうが、たまたま落ち損ねたのだろう。これからこのムカゴはどんな経緯をたどるのだろう、想像すると楽しくなる。なお、「零余子ご飯」は詩の世界では、秋の季語らしい。
A mukago was left on a yellowish yam vine. Originally, it was supposed to fall to the ground and begin its life as a new individual, but it must have failed to fall by accident. It is fun to imagine what kind of history this mukago will go through in the future. In the world of poetry, "Mukago gohan" is said to be a seasonal word for autumn.
紅葉は、他の葉と違って、人の手に似た形状がとても面白い。形や大きさがしっかり認識できるから、遠近の差もわかりやすい。赤く色づいてくるとバックは明るいより、むしろ暗い方が映える。だから奥に行くに従って暗くなるような景色の方が、見た目いいということになる。しかしそれとともに、おどろおどろしさも増幅されていくから、もっと面白い。
Autumn leaves are very interesting because, unlike other leaves, their shape resembles a human hand. The shape and size are clearly recognizable, so it is easy to see the difference in perspective. これは桜だろうか、爺さんの顔のような痘痕を持つ色づいた葉が数枚、枝の先に残っていた。おお、がんばっているなあ、と言う意識とともに、この葉っぱたちに威厳すら感じる。これはとりもなおさず、自分の気持ちが既に、老獪の域に達している、ということなのか。恐ろしいことだ。
A few colored leaves with pockmarks like an old man's face remained at the tips of the branches. I felt a sense of dignity from these leaves as well as a sense of "Oh, they are doing their best. Does this mean that I have already reached the cunning stage? It is a frightening thing.
